The Differentials:
The specs of the two devices alone are pretty close. Although the two support different proprietary audio and video formats, they also support many standardized formats. The biggest variations between the two in this regard seem to be in available data storage capacities, app store, and screen type (OLED vs. LCD). But the most significant variations between the two is in their user interface and integrated PC/Mac software. The Battles begins :) Mac or PC?

Connectivity

Zune HD
PC Connectivity: USB, Wireless Sync
Video Output: HDMI
Audio Output: Stereo Headphone
Internet Connectivity: Wireless
Wireless Type: Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)

iPod touch (3G)
PC Connectivity: USB
Video Output: Component
Audio Output: Stereo Headphone
Internet Connectivity: Wireless
Wireless Type: Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)

The Differential:
While the Zune HD and the iPod touch (3G) both have USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, the Zune HD has a slight advantage of the iPod touch in that it supports and has wireless library syncing via home network and HDMI video ouput. Which is very nice feature.

Included Assessories

Zune HD
-Earbud Headphones
-Zune Sync Cable (USB)

iPod touch (3G)
-Earbud Headphones with Integrated Microphone
-USB Sync Cable
-Dock Adaptor

The Differential:
In the accessory area, both items have similar add-ons included, but the iPod touch (3G) nice earbud's inline microphone is does make a slight advantage.

When I purchase my Zune HD. I will have a review up ASAP of the product.

  1. This isn't really a reaction to this user review, but they said in the interview they would update the post with results of the battery tests once completed, but now a month after they posted it they still haven't. I'd just like to put it to cnets attention.
